What’s osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is the common chronic disease of senior dogs and cats. This disease results in joint instability and is often related to vigorous exercise, body type, gene and old wounds. By long term wear and tear, joints thus inflame and the cushion space narrows.

There are some more potential factors that cause arthritis, e.g., joint instability, patellar luxation and cruciate ligament tear. These are the common reasons why senior dogs have joint inflammation.

Treatment and health care for chronic arthritis

Senior animals with arthritis are just like humans. When people get old, they often go to clinics for rehabilitation. Dogs also need to be evaluated regularly and have proper physical treatment to alleviate the inflammation and pain of joints. After discussing with vet, we can then take some sports at home for dogs, adjust their exercising schedule and provide them some physical treatments that are available at home.
